Hello world its Derrick Jr aka Zip mouth again with another one and this time I am going to analyze timelines from pre2000 to the current and future eras now this is goanna be fun and exciting because one thing I love is comparing and studying the times either way let's get it rockin get it Poppin.

Before 2000

From the world wars to the civil rights movement to the crack era to the rise of rap/hip-hop grunge indie and r&b to y2k there where a high variety of things going on in this time that influenced and impacted modern society. A time of history making cultural creation generational defining and ETC the 20th century was filled with historical events along unfortune tragedies and timeless traumas.

  1. Cold War: the cold war was a period of geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies the western bloc and eastern bloc which began following World War 2. The vast destruction of WW2 left two superpowers: the United States and the Soviet Union both with conflicting ideas of how to restore international order. Popular cold war films include red dawn (1984) Firefox (1982) the falcon and the snowman (1985) spies like us (1985) and rocky IV (1985). The peak of the cold war was the Cuban missile crisis the closet the world has ever come to self-destruction. The key points of the cold war are space exploration the fall of the berlin wall John F. Kennedy Richard M. Nixion and etc.

2. Black Wall Street: Black Wall Street also known as the Greenwood Neighborhood of Tulsa OK was a historical thriving town with Afro American owned businesses that had prosperity and self-sufficiency. Black Wall Street was just one of many booming black communities in the 20th century that was sadly destroyed during a race massacre were African American businesses were burned to the ground and blacks were killed the event was not only one the worst massacres of African Americans but also the most traumatic however the Tulsa race massacre of black wall street is just one example of why many black/African/afro Americans are in deteriorated unfortunate and unstable conditions along with lack of resources and lack of knowledge. Reparations are very important in terms making up for lost resources it is especially important black/african americans since we are collectively at the bottom and don't have high resources. There have been many other african american massacres such as rosewood the Atlanta race riot red summer and the Opelousas massacre.

3. Emmett till: Emmit till is an african american teenager from Chicago who was brutally and violently murdered in Mississippi for allegedly whistling at white women. The incident was extremely tragic and traumatic. The before and after images were highly painful to look at many african americans across the nation attended the funeral the image of Emmett's face was so broken that it appeared on the jet magazine and the Chicago defender along with being one of the many racially motivated violence against black/african americans the cause of the civil rights movement or it at least became a highly influential part of it.

4. The year 1969: Of all the years in the 20th century 1969 was probably the most influential with events like the Woodstock festival Apollo moon landing inventions like ARPANET (which also was an early version of the internet) tv shows like sesame street and other things 1969 was highly innovative. However, while it was historic era there was definitely some negativity for instance Charles Manson who notorious mass murderer committed a family murder between august 8 & 9 while being in SoCal (southern California). Also, a hurricane called Camillie hit the Mississippi coast killing 248 people and there was a protest against the Vietnam war. But the cost of living was also very low and generally speaking 1969 was immediately right after the end of civil rights movement and the last year before the late 20th century. On a final note, since I didn't include the year 2000 here are the 3 events that occurred in that year.

  1. New Millennium (obviously)

  2. Release of the PlayStation 2 console

  3. Dot com bubble burst/bust

2001-2004

A simpler time but also tragic time from the destruction of the twin towers to Facebook the begging of the 21st century had some defining moments. here are the things that took place during this time.

  1. 9/11: On September 11, 2001, a plane flew into the twin towers of a building called the world trade center. When the airplane hit the buildings, it destroyed the entire thing to the ground the most defining event of the 21st century it changed the world forever and left a permanent mark on American culture. There is not much to say about 9/11 because the event itself is self-explanatory.

  2. Web 2.0: Though the internet already existed much of it was only web 1.0 meaning that it was a read only format, but things were about to change big time because there was new creation of the internet called Web 2.0 which meant that it was a read write format basically you could create your own content and upload it to a website. This changed everything about the internet however since this was 2004 it was not really fully developed yet though sites like Facebook and myspace (which was created before web 2.0) started to take off there were only a few hot websites at the time though there was one website that would soon come out.

Bonus: Here are some other things that took place during the 2001-2004 era

2001: 9/11 (obviously) the release of the iPod death of Aaliyah the human Genome sequence being revealed World economic slowdown the bear market and etc.

2002: US airway bankruptcy euro the United States XIX winter Olympics the deaths of Lisa left eye and jam master jay world noble peace prize axis of evil speech from George W bush and etc.

2003: Human Genome project the death of Mr. Rogers and etc.

2004: The strongest earthquake in 40 years EU expansion web 2.0 and etc.

2005-2012

Now this is when things got very interesting from YouTube to the recession you name it one of the most influential eras of the 21st century this era was exciting to say the least but there were also some tragedies that happened in the begging in between and in the end. Either way I'm not goanna to do all the chit chat here are the things that took place during the 2005-2012 era.

  1. YouTube: On February 14, 2005, there was new video site that changed the entire image of the internet. YouTube it was called created by Steve Chen Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim the website instantly took off one the most popular well known and visited website was the biggest thing that hit since Google it was basically a platform where you create content upload it and broadcast yourself however things really started to get big in May 2007, when they begin paying people since then YouTube has been the biggest creation in the history of the internet. Sadly, in recent time YouTube has become much like television just without the full censorship. See there was a time when you could do and say what you want without worries and still get paid in the process however things changed especially sometime in 2017 when various youtube channels were terminated and deleted for a variety of reasons but though there's been a decline in freedom of speech ETC on youtube the site still stands strong (well at least for the time being) and it is well establish.

  2. iPhone: On June 29, 2007, a new device came on the scene. iPhone it was called the gadget instantly blew up since touchscreen phones were highly uncommon back then. There have many iphones that have been released over the years, but the bestselling iPhone of all time is the iPhone 6.

  3. Hurricane Katrina: On August 23, 2005, there was a huge mega storm forming in the gulf coast it started in the Bahamas then it went up to the coastal states of Louisiana Mississippi and Florida while hitting parts of Georgia and Alabama. Hurricane Katrina it was called one the deadliest natural disasters in U.S history devastating the city of New Orleans along with other parishes in southeastern Louisiana and counties in Mississippi & Florida. Georgia and Alabama were also directly hit with certain counties in Georgia receiving fatal storms and coastal cities like mobile al also getting heavy damage. The event was sad and tragic to say the least with a total of 1,245-1,836 deaths.

  4. The Great Recession: The 2000s economy after the bear market started to boom again for 5 years until December 2007 when the subprime mortgage crisis (which started a year earlier) started to get worse like a lot worse the economy started to sink in decline with the highest amount of house foreclosures and unemployment since the 1930s depression. The recission lasted until June 2009 with most of it being in 2008.

  5. Election of Barack Obama: Also, in 2008 there was a highly important presidential election that forever changed not only the face of America but created a new perspective on black americans. Barack Obama was the first black men to become president and severe two full terms and Michelle Obama was the first black first lady. Obama received a high number of votes from african americans mostly because he was black. Other groups such as Latinos also voted for him in high numbers. Obama left a permanent mark on black culture while changing the white house in a unique way however it was not all glory though. Just a few years after the election of obama there were some negative things that stated to take off like rise of racial tensions a badly slow economic recovery and etc.

  6. Michael Jackson: One of the greatest musicians of all time Michael Jackson was an influential pioneer with timeless classics and unique talent there have been many great songs from man in the mirror to thriller to beat it bad & butterflies michael created many great songs and became the king of pop. Sadly, the legendary 20th century cultural figure died on June 25, 2009, this was of the biggest loss of the entertainment industry at the time. Though michael jackson is no longer alive his legacy still lives on with timeless music and a high influence on pop culture entertainment and ETC michael jackson will never be forgotten.

  7. Aftermath of the recession: The great recession ended in June 2009 however the economy was still highly unstable in fact it took many years to fully recovery.

  8. Bullying: Sometime between the late 2000s and early 2010s there was an epidemic of incidents in schools that exploded into ultra-chaos. At first it was just small to medium and not many people took notice however in the beginning of the 2010s antibullying commercials started to pop up on television and a lot of people start to take bullying seriously. Here are some facts about bullying. Half of all children are bullied at some time during their school years. More than 10% are bullied regularly. d Boys tend to bully according to such as athlete vs non-athlete. Girls tend to bully according to social status such as popular vs non-popular. Bullying happens not just in the United States but also all over the world. International researchers have demonstrated that bullying in school is universal. Girls bully groups more than boys.

9. Trayvon Martin & Oscar Grant: Between December 31st, 2008, and January 1st Mr. Grant and his friends went to the BART train station when they got there it was just a normal night on the train one of Oscars friends even played some music and the journey seemed pretty fun. unfortunately, things took a tun when grant bump heads with a guy that he had conflict with while he in prison the incident turned into a fight and the police were alerted. Oscar Grant and his friends were stopped by the BART policemen, and they were forced to be on the ground while being detained one of the cops slammed Oscar to the ground. One shot was fired from officer Johannes Mehserle's gun while grant was kneed to the platform it instantly killed him on the spot. There were tensions in the bay area following his death the trial was moved to Los Angeles Mehserle was convicted and found guilty of involuntary manslaughter though there was no African American serving on the jury. On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin was walking down the street while wearing his hoodie jacket to a convenience store on his way back to his father's fiancée's house Zimmerman who was a community watch member saw Trayvon considered him suspicious. Zimmerman mad a report to Sanford police there was an altercation between them, and Zimmerman shot Trayvon. Zimmerman said he was injured and that he shot Trayvon in self-defense due to Florida's stand your ground law the cops could not charge him. There were protest in the days following Trayvon's death Zimmerman was eventually charged however was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter the following. Trayvon Martin's death sparked the Black Lives Matter movement.

10. Japan earthquake: On March 11, 2011, there was sudden change in the ground buildings started shaking an earthquake happen and then a Tsunami followed. More than 15,000 were killed and many more were hurt and left homeless the disaster caused a series of nuclear accidents including disabling the Fukushima Daiichi power plant and forced residents within 30 kilometers of the facility to evacuate.

2013-2017

With so much that already happened the 21st century was officially becoming innovative, and technology begin to be very advanced in the time. Here are the things that took place during the 2013-2017 era.

  1. Second generation of social media: While Facebook YouTube and Twitter were already pretty popular another platform was about to blow up. In April 2012 a new social media service was release to the public Instagram it was called though founded in 2010 the official platform did not really get notice until a few years later. Instagram was the most popular social media platform since Facebook. The site and app peaked in 2014 and though while still being highly popular has not been as good since.

  2. BLM (Black Lives Matter): Black Lives Matter is an activist organization that was created in 2013 after the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The Movement insist of multiple protest across the United States the organization especially became well known after the Ferguson shooting death of Michael Brown since then the hashtag Black Lives Matter has been mentioned in many social media post that included injustice and race relation issues. Unfortunately, Black Lives Matter have been exposed for causing racial tensions and supporting an alternative lifestyle while not actually focusing on real black issues such as self-hate black on black violence thug culture and etc.

  3. Racial Tensions: Following the shooting deaths of Trayvon Martin and Michael brown there were also many other racial motivated situations that turned into tragic deaths. From Eric Garner to Tamir Rice to Sandra Bland to Alton Sterling to Friddie Grey and many more there were a lot of frustration considering these tragic incidents.

  4. The year 2016: The 2010s though more peaceful than the mid-late 20th century was also filled with chaos turmoil and tension especially in 2016 which by many was considered the worst year of decade and there's a good reason why. From celebrity deaths to racial tensions to natural disasters to the election to the zika virus there were many not only bad but unfortune things that happened in 2016. However then came 2020 which was highly worse than 2016 with a contagious pandemic defining the entire year and is bad enough to be in the history books.

  5. Solar Eclipse: On August 21 2017 there was a solar eclipse that appeared in the sky it dubbed the great american eclipse by the media and it went through the Pacific and Atlantic coast of the United States while being visible in other parts of the world.

2018

Just a short rewind to a few years ago a time when covid wasn't even a thing though not necessarily a golden paradise it was still better than 2020-2021. Here are the top things that took place in 2018.

  1. California Wildfires: At some time in 2018 a massive wildfire sparked in California destroying various homes and putting many people out of place.

  2. School Shootings and march for our lives: Various school shootings started to explode up to the point where students were told to walk out of school to march and protest the tragedies. There was movement called March for Our Lives which was a student-led demonstration in support of gun control legislation.

  3. Stephon Clark: On March 18, 2018, Stephon Clark was shot and killed by police stephon was in the backyard of his grandmother's house holding his phone officers Terrence Mercadal and Jared Robinet fired 20 rounds at clark killing him instantly due to them believing that he had pointed a gun at them. The shooting caused large protest in Sacramento and Clark's family members have rejected the initial police description of the events leading Clark's death the cops that shot him were placed on paid administrative leave and were not charged.

2021 and beyond

Well, here we are the current time I'm goanna admit it's been a hard one from inflation to mandates to the failures of Biden covid and ETC we are defiantly in some troubling times, but I have hope that we will make it through the storm, and everything will be healed under the sun.
